KoattroPlastomers, a new polymer family, is expected to provide a different property balance when used as an additive for lubricant greases .

Itis a novel high molecular weight plastomeric material based on Basell technology(Koattro plastomers are produced at the Basell Benelux B.V., a LyondellBasell company facility in The Netherlands)with unique characteristics ,is particular suitable for applications were high solubility in oils is required. Applicative examples are lubricant greases and oils viscosity modification.

It is a polyolefin, based on the chemistry of the polybutene-1

• Butene-1 is not isobutylene
• Molecule with no double bonds
• Very low polarity (apolar)
• Low crystallinity / amorphous “plastomer”
• Density of 0.89 gr/cm3
• Melting point range of 114 °C

Moreover, it could be used for gel preparation; adhesives. in mastics, paints and other products where a good surface adhesion is important.

• Koattro Plastomers are in pellet form; easy handling.
• KT AR03 & KT AR31 are industrial grades.
